Demulisyon

DEMULISYON
(demolition)

Ang gulo ng paligid, sabi ng batang paslit
(anarchy says the little child)
Mayroong sumisigaw, at umiiyak na tinig
(lots of shouting and wailing can be heard)
Mayroong nagmamakaawa ang sambit
(there is someone pleading for mercy)
Mayroong ding nagmumura sa galit
(And there is someone cursing in anger)

Sa pagkakatayo ay wala silang magawa
(while they are standing, they are helpless)
Ang bahay nila ay unti-unti ng nawawala
(their homes are slowly being demolished)
Kailangang lisanin ang lupang di kanila
(there is a need to leave the land that they do not own)
At baka tamaan ng balang walang mata
(because they might be hit by a blind bullet)

Punglo ang tumama sa kanilang kasama
(a bullet hit one of their companions)
Hindi malaman kung sino ang may gawa
(no one knows who did it)
Kawawang nilalang walang awang pinaslang
(what a pity on him who was slaughtered mercilessly)
Maipagtanggol lang ang lupang kanyang kinalakihan
(he was just defending the land he grew up from)

Sa bahay na giba giba sila ay namaalam
(the house that was destroyed they had to say goodbye)
Ililipat na sila sa malayong kanayunan
(they had to move to a far away countryside)
Malayo na sa kanilang kabuhayan
(very far from their livelihood)
Magbabakasakali sa kanilang kinabukasan
(taking their chances on the uncertain future)

Masakit man tanggapin
(it is hard to swallow)
Pero ito ang katotohanan
(but this is the truth)
Ng mga taong nakatira
(of the people who used to live here)
Sa bayan nilang sinilangan
(on their own country where they were born)
